People can not live without music. They listen to music, the dance to music, they learn to play musical instruments. But what is music? Music isn’t a combination of pleasant sounds only. If is an art which reflects life, people’s ideas and emotions.

Презентация ученика № 4 Is here doo mush music? 1.Read that Dima says about music. Yes, I love music. I listen to it all the time . I’ve got a Walkman so I can listen to music when I’m out. At home I always have the radio on and I watch pop programmers on TV. I buy an album or cassette about once a month, usually something in the fob ten. I like pop music – it keeps me happy. Questions: a. What kind of music does Dima like? b. How does he listen to music when he’s out? c. What does he listen to at home? d. Why he listen to pop music?
C. Now listen to advice of professional musician about learning to play an instrument. Learning to play an instrument is like learninganything else - a new language, typing,driving, a new sport. All these things take a lot of time and practice – you can’t learn something new in fire minutes. You often make fantastic progress when you start and then stay the same for mouths. Many times you think you can’t do it – you’ll never be any good – but remember an English saying “Is at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.” Are an just a few things I advise you to remember before you start: -Always look after your instrument and clear it. -Try and get some professional lessons. -It is important to practice regularly – few minutes a day is better than one hour on Saturdays. -Never miss your practice time. -Don’t give up!

B. Many people want to learn to play a musical instrument, but how do decide which one is best for you. You must act yourself a lot of questions first. With you partner imagine one of you wants to buy a new instrument and discuss these questions: How much money do you want to spend? What kind of music do you want to play ? Do you want to play with other people? Do you want to have lessons or teach yourself? How much time do you want to spend practice? So which instrument do you choose?
Which music your classmates prefer? Findings : 66% - prefer pop music 30% - listen to classical music (sometimes) 0% - dance rave 0% listen to jazz 4 %- listen to rock
Pop music attracts most of young people. Young people search for new rhythms and new styles which are full of corse and vigour, which deal with youth hopes, dreams, disappoints and joys. One pupil plays a musical instrument. 70% Of parents like the same music as their children. As for me I got 9 predictions, so I know my partner quite well.
Discussion: Do you think many young people are like Dima? Do you think it is a bad thing to listen to music all the time? Why? Why not? Should Dima’s mother try and stop him listening to music? If so, how? Is anyone in your family like Dima?
How read what his mother says. I know he’s only 14, but he’s driving me mad with his music. All day long blasting out of his bedroom! I can’t hear myself think! I can’t talk to her because he’s always got that walkman on and he can’t hear me. Either that or the TV. I’m worried about him because he doesn’t do anything else.
